I met you in bed,
like every other night this week,
you closed your grip on my eyelids
then flip them up again…
blade swift.
Insomnia
you bring me to
you like remnants of
a kill.
I write.
I write for you,
kill joy.

Insomnia, in my humble view, is a writer’s recipe for creativity. It’s in those restless nights that imagination, purpose and the need to tell a story awakens. It’s when a writer’s senses are the most in tune with his/her inner self…out flows word after another and like an engineer we build and build unaware of time. Insomnia gives way to restful bliss after our quest is complete.
Superb as always Viktoria.
